I am happy to report that the Fair was a resounding success. One of my skeins won best in show. YAY!!!!!!!!! This makes me especially happy as it’s a technique that I came up with all by my self to insert colored wool wraps between the yarn plies. It kind of makes the yarn look like it has beads in it. This picture is not the best I will have to get one that shows the wraps better. This yarn is 100% alpaca with small wool wraps of bright colors.
The other skein that won honors was a single. It was spun out of an AFKW fiber club shipment… whose name I have forgotten and am working on getting. It was a blend of alpaca, silk, and merino. The blue is indigo dye. It is mostly a fingering weight yarn and will most likely become a scarf sometime soon.
On to the scarfs…. Two of the three won best in lot and then second best in lot. All in all a very satisfactory ending.
